Article I (Name and Purpose)
Section 1
This chapter shall be called Reel Christian Bass Anglers of Tennessee
Section 2 Purpose – To function as superior examples of Christians in Fishing
and in our communities. To promote our faith in Jesus Christ as our Savior,
through the sport of Bass Fishing. To improve our knowledge of fishing through
the exchange of information and ideas through fellowship.
Article II Membership
Section 1 Requirements
A - Express a genuine interest in
membership
B - To agree to conduct themselves in an ethical and moral manner
C - To keep all dues and fees paid current.
Section 2 Dues
Annual dues will be $10 and must be paid by completion of first Tournament
fished.
Section 3 Meetings
Meetings will be held the same day whenever possible at regular intervals.
Article III Officers, Elections, Vacancies & Eligibility
Section 1 Officers & Duties
A - President– The President will preside over all meetings and direct all official
business. He shall be a full member of all committees.
B – Vice President – Assist the President in his duties and preside over functions
in the absence of the President.
C - Secretary – Maintain minutes of all regular and special called meetings.
Maintain accurate record of membership.
D – Treasurer – Collect and disburse monies while keeping an accurate record of
said transactions.
E – T.C. Chairman – Preside over Tournament Committee Meetings and
Tournaments Record Events and inform club of weigh ins and results.
Section 2 Elections – The election of Officers shall be held annually at the regular
club meeting in September. The election of T.C. & club chaplain will be held at
the November meeting. Simple majority by members present will complete
election. The order of election will follow Article III Section 1 and will be done
individually.
Section 3 Term – The term for offices held shall run from January 1 through
December 31.
Section 4 Vacancies – In the event of an office becoming vacant, nominations
will be asked for and an election held to fill the position.
Section 5 Eligibility – (Excluding the clubs original formation)
A – Have been a member for at least 2 years. B - Attend and participate in at least
50% of club events.
Article IV Standing Committees
Section 1 Oversight committee
Oversight committee – This committee shall consist of 5 people, which will consist of
the President, Tournament Committee Chairman, and 3 members at large not
on the Tournament Committee. Their duty is to make all proposals and
amendments to the club, in a thorough and precise manner. All proposals must be
analyzed by this committee, which then makes a formal proposal to the club.
Proposals will be voted on at the following meeting, giving everyone at least 1
month to consider the items. Proposals in full detail may be made to the oversight
committee at any time during the year, providing committee is provided notice of a proposal.
They will be considered, and if approvedd by the committee, can be brought before the club
at the next meeting. This committee will be elected annually in November. Changes
will take effect on January 1, unless otherwise noted. But reverse actions to previous proposals may take effect immediately.
Section 2 Tournament Committee
The purpose of the Tournament Committee shall be to plan, organize, and operate
all club tournaments. They will record tournament results, enforce tournament
rules and investigate all protests concerning tournaments and decision them
promptly. The Tournament Committee will consist of 6 members and a chairman.
These will be voted on at the last annual meeting and elected by simple majority.
Article V Removal of Membership
A – Failure to pay
B – Any actions which would bring dishonor and disgrace on the club.
C – Removal must be agreed on by majority of club officers.
Article VI Monies
A – The club will be responsible for all expenses related to the club.
B – The club will pay up to $100 per person to the top 6 people at years end for entry
and expense for the “Best of The Best” Tournament.
C - The club will support charities and worthy causes each Christmas and
throughout the year as needs arise and finances permit.
Article VII Method of Amending By Laws and Tournament Rules
Any proposals must be made by the oversight committee to the club. These could
be made twice a year after full consideration and a majority approval by the over-
sight committee. The club membership must approve by a 2/3 majority any pro-
posals to become affective. The vote will be held at the meeting following the
proposal.
