Tournament Rules

 



1. The T.C. will determine the time and location of each tournament.
Each tournament will be discussed and voted on within the committee.
Day tournaments shall not exceed 10 hours and night tournaments shall
not exceed 8 hours.

2. Boats will start the tournament based on the position drawn at the
previous meeting. Late entries will start at the rear on draw tournaments,
but the last boat drawn at the meeting will be the starter boat on draw
tournaments. Some tournaments may be honor starts with fishing to begin
at tournament start time. Trailing is permitted, but you must be at the
ramp for take-off if it is a draw tournament.

3. All legal fish will be measured, weighed and documented by the
tournament committee. All bass will be handled with care and released,
except in the case of a trophy fish.

4. The creel limit will be 5 fish per person, unless stated otherwise. Fish
culling must take place at the time of catching the sixth fish. No sharing of fish is allowed.

5. The minimum length is 12”, unless stated otherwise by state regulation. Fish
will be measured mouth closed, mouth on a Gator Grip Pro Board. Fish brought
to the scales more than ¼” short of the limit will result in a 8oz . penalty.
A 1/2 pound dead fish penalty will be reported on each dead fish.

6. Fish should be brought to the scales in bags, and each participant must use his
own bag. All cull tags shall be removed before bringing fish to weigh in.

7. Everyone must be at weigh in by designated time. Each participant will be
penalized 2 ounces per minute up to 15 minutes. Person arriving over the
15 minutes late will be disqualified.

8. Only artificial lures may be used with the exception of pork trailers. Only
1 rod may be used at a time and no trolling is allowed.

9. All participants must wear a USCG approved life preserver when the boat
is on plane, and it must be attached to the kill switch.

10. Any questions or rules infraction, concerning a tournament, will be addressed
to the T.C. Chairman within 30 minutes of the end of the tournament. T.C.
decisions will be made in a prompt manner and results made final.

11. Points will be awarded for each points tournament as follows 1 st – 100
2 nd – 99 3 rd – 98 Etc – 1 bonus point will be awarded for each largemouth
5 lbs or over, each smallmouth 4 lbs or over, and spots 3 lbs or over. And 1
bonus point will be awarded to overall Big Fish. 1 additional point will be awarded
for each club meeting attended, with a maximum of 7 annually. The best 7 scores
out of 10 count or 8 scores out of 12 count for the ear, depending on tournaments
scheduled.

12. Entry fee will be $20.00 per person for adults. Participants under age of 16 and
first time only guests will be $10.00.

13. Distribution of entry fees are as follows:
10% charity
10% club expense
80% tournament payback at ramp (10% big fish and remaining 90% position)

Boats
1 - 5 = 100%
6 - 10 = 65% & 35%
11 - 15 = 50% & 30% & 20%
16 - 20 = 40% & 30% & 20% & 10%
21 - 25 = 35% & 23% & 17% & 15% & 10%

14. The use of cell phones, walkie-talkie, or any communication device to gain fishing
information is prohibited.

15. Awards for the top 6 Anglers and Big Bass of the Year will be given at a year end
banquet (or club meeting). The top 6 Anglers may be eligible for expenses up to a total
of $100 per person into the “Best of the Best Tournament” the following year. If any of
these Anglers decline participation, the next Angler(s) in order of year end finish will
have the opportunity to have paid entry to the tournament. Angler of the year will
receive a $100.00 gift certificate. Big fish of the year will receive a $100.00 dollar
gift certificate.

16. Any changes or cancellations in a tournament, will be determined by a majority
of the T.C. If the decision is a tie, the president will cast the deciding vote.

17. Guests are eligible for Big fish pot of the tournament fished, but not for Big fish
of the year certificate or trophy.
